Who we are
The Woodworking Studio was founded by George to give people access to the space, tools, and support needed to build, repair, and create with wood.
After training as a joiner many years ago and always maintaining a love for making, George spent the past five years working in London. On returning to Yorkshire, he found it surprisingly difficult to access affordable workshop space and professional equipment to continue his own projects.
That challenge sparked the idea for The Woodworking Studio — a shared workshop where hobbyists and professionals alike can work with high-quality tools, learn new skills, and bring their ideas to life.
Alongside open workshop access, the Studio will run woodworking classes and skill-based courses, supporting learning, creativity, and confidence at every level.
At its heart, The Woodworking Studio is about community: a welcoming, shared environment to learn, work, and connect through craftsmanship.
Safety first
All members complete a safety induction before using any machinery, with additional training available where required, ensuring a safe and professional space for everyone.
